Richardsonian Romanesque
リチャードソニアン・ロマネスク / 1870s–1890s / 양식 / 역사 양식
19세기 후반 미국에서 로마네스크의 둥근 아치를 거친 석조, 깊은 개구부, 비대칭 탑, 낮고 옆으로 퍼진 덩어리로 다시 만든 건축 양식이다. 붙인 장식보다 돌의 무게와 그림자의 깊이가 건물에 공공적인 힘을 준다.
입구와 창을 한데 묶는 넓고 깊은 둥근 아치 / 거친 돌벽과 색이 다른 수평 석재 띠 / 낮은 수평 윤곽 위에 원뿔 지붕을 얹은 비대칭 탑 / 안쪽으로 층층이 물러난 개구부와 기둥머리·아치돌에 한정한 조각

- Fit a broad serif title into a voussoir band and do not add ornamental lines finer than the stone joints.
- 구성
- Group round arches of different sizes into a low horizontal body, add one tower to one side, and pull openings deep enough to reveal wall thickness.
- 재료
- Lay large blocks of rough sandstone or granite, changing color or finish only at arch stones and horizontal bands, with dark timber and metal set farther back.
- 주의
- A round arch alone is not Richardsonian Romanesque. Distinguish it from an ancient or medieval reconstruction through its American civic program, rough massing, asymmetry and deeply recessed openings.
