Technique où l'étoffe est cousue, ligaturée ou serrée entre des planches avant la teinture, de sorte que seules les parties sous pression restent blanches. Le résultat dépend de la force de la main de l'artisan et du mouvement du tissu, et un même patron ne donne jamais deux pièces identiques.
