Zhe School

浙派 / Ming dynasty, 15th–16th centuries / Style / East Asian Painting

A Ming painting lineage associated with Dai Jin, Wu Wei and others who reinterpreted Southern Song court models. Large landscapes and narratives unfold through strong ink masses and energetic lines. It was not a fixed studio limited to Zhejiang; artists and influence ranged widely, and some paintings combine its approach with Wu-school conventions.
