ノヴェチェント・イタリアーノ / 1922–1943 / Style / Figurative Painting
Eine Bewegung, die nach der Zersetzung durch die Avantgarde zur Massigkeit und Ruhe der italienischen Klassik zurückkehren wollte. Vereinfachte, feste Körper, gedämpfte Erdtöne und stark frontale Kompositionen wurden zum Vokabular der öffentlichen Bauten und Wandbilder der Zwischenkriegszeit. Ein Hauptbeispiel der „Rückkehr zur Ordnung“, das auch in seiner Nähe zum Regime gelesen werden muss.

- Zu vermeiden
- Taking the monumental frontality as neutral good taste: the same devices were built to speak for a state, and used without that awareness the work carries an argument its author did not intend.
