Eine Gruppe, die 1960 in Paris die „direkte Aneignung der Wirklichkeit“ ausrief. Abgerissene Plakatschichten, komprimierte Autokarosserien und angehäufter Müll machen die Stadt selbst zum Werk, ohne den Umweg über die Darstellung. Die Haltung, Material nicht zu bearbeiten, sondern auszuwählen, schuf die Voraussetzung der späteren Assemblage.
