Un movimiento internacional que buscó hacer visible la interioridad mediante formas y colores que sugieren el sueño, el mito y la idea, en lugar de describir el mundo exterior. Contornos difusos, ojos cerrados, plantas y emblemas ornamentalizados se disponen como presencias que nunca explicitan su significado. Creó el vocabulario del cartel y de la decoración del libro del fin de siglo.
