Movimiento que volvió a elegir deliberadamente el arco apuntado y la verticalidad medievales, en objeción a la industrialización y al clasicismo. No fue mera nostalgia. Creó la idea de que elegir un estilo es sostener una tesis sobre la moral y el carácter nacional.
