서양에서 가장 오래된 악보. 손의 움직임 같은 곡선으로 선율의 억양을 적었다. 음높이가 선에 고정되기 이전의 선율의 몸짓이며, 그레고리오 성가의 필사본에 지금도 살아 있다.
