Une théorie polonaise selon laquelle le tableau ne doit comporter ni contraste ni centre, mais exister comme un seul organisme homogène. La hiérarchie de la figure et du fond s'efface, et la surface colorée se poursuit d'un poids égal jusqu'au bord. L'ancêtre théorique de la grille homogène et de la composition all-over.
