Movimiento que impugnó de frente la premisa moderna según la cual el ornamento es algo inferior. Llevó a la gran escala la repetición de la geometría islámica, el quilt, el papel pintado y el textil, y situó el trabajo manual femenino y los estilos no occidentales en el centro del arte.
