Yamato-e

やまと絵 / Heian period onward / Estilo / Pintura de Asia Oriental

Tradición pictórica japonesa de relatos, lugares y estaciones, desarrollada desde el periodo Heian. Campos de color, nubes y vistas de interiores sin techo organizan escenas en rollos, biombos y puertas. Se distingue de Rinpa, ukiyo-e y Nihonga.

Test opaque colour, outlines and the paper or silk ground separately; record gilding by individual work.
Precaución
Do not use the term for all Japanese pictures. Roofless architecture and stylised faces are not present in every example; check subject, format and date together.
