Compose styles
Rather than blending styles toward a middle, this gives them roles. The first one carries the structure, the next comes in as the accent, and anything after that shows up in a single detail. Where they fight each other, it says so before you start.
How to divide the work
- Composition
- Follow Madhubani: Place the main figures first, then fill every gap with fish and flowers
- Type
- Set in Madhubani's manner (Draw lettering with the same line and ring it with pattern), and let Warli Painting's lettering (Keep explanatory text outside the image and name the community, maker and scene) appear only where you want the eye to catch.
- Material
- Ground in Madhubani's material (Double outlines separating figure from ground, a limited natural palette); bring in exactly one thing from Warli Painting (Use the relationship between rice-white pigment and earth as a study cue; document modern materials individually).
- Colour
- Build on #ecc530, #ae3e50, #101615 and admit one accent from #EEE8D7, #A45432, #583321.
Where they fight
These are already listed as related entries, so the join should come easily.
Caution
- Madhubani Tiling the pattern as pure material strips the imagery of its blessing and prayer, and the work sinks to decorative texture.
- Warli Painting Its origins are not securely dated. Do not turn wedding chawk or sacred figures into generic icons; verify makers, context and use.
Image prompt
Produce four original images that take their structure from Madhubani (style, traditional–present) and their accent from Warli Painting (style, living tradition / paper and canvas since 1970s). ## What to make Make the kind of thing Madhubani exists for: festive decoration needing dense pattern that leaves no empty ground, or walls and picture books that tell myth through line and pattern alone. Choose one subject and hold it across all four. ## Structure comes from Madhubani - Pattern filling the plane - Double outlines - Mythic imagery - Natural pigments Composition: Place the main figures first, then fill every gap with fish and flowers. Type and lettering: Draw lettering with the same line and ring it with pattern. ## Accent comes from Warli Painting, used sparingly - White marks on brown or red earth grounds - Figures built from joined triangles, circles and slender limbs - Circular or spiral dance beside scenes of everyday activity - People, animals, trees and fields arranged without perspectival depth Let one material quality come from it: Use the relationship between rice-white pigment and earth as a study cue; document modern materials individually. ## Colour and feeling Build the ground on #ecc530, carry the structure in #ae3e50 and #101615, and let a single accent come from #A45432. These are read off real works, so a direction rather than a fixed palette. Feeling to carry: intimacy, exhilaration, nostalgia. ## What goes wrong - Madhubani: Tiling the pattern as pure material strips the imagery of its blessing and prayer, and the work sinks to decorative texture. - Warli Painting: Its origins are not securely dated. Do not turn wedding chawk or sacred figures into generic icons; verify makers, context and use. ## Across the four Keep the roles fixed in all four. Vary the framing, the scale and the arrangement so the set shows what this pairing can do rather than four versions of one picture. ## Constraints - Do not imitate, reference or name any specific artist, studio, brand, character or copyrighted work. - Do not reproduce the composition of an existing work. - Produce original compositions in the general period languages described above.

Women of the Mithila region in Bihar have painted these festival images on walls and floors for generations. Pattern crowds out every empty space, and the mythic imagery is still alive and still being updated.
- Warli Painting living tradition / paper and canvas since 1970s / Style / Mural Traditions
A painting tradition of Warli communities in Maharashtra and Gujarat, joining white geometric figures and lines on earth-coloured walls. Work, animals, dance and ritual share a largely unoverlapped plane. Later paper and cloth works extend the practice; the community and the subject remain essential to reading its forms.
