Compose styles

Rather than blending styles toward a middle, this gives them roles. The first one carries the structure, the next comes in as the accent, and anything after that shows up in a single detail. Where they fight each other, it says so before you start.

How to divide the work

Composition
Follow Neubrutalism: Divide into clear boxes; shadows in one direction
Type
Set in Neubrutalism's manner (Bold sans, monospace), and let Neumorphism's lettering (A concise sans-serif) appear only where you want the eye to catch.
Material
Ground in Neubrutalism's material (Off-white plus vivid color, black borders, few rounded corners); bring in exactly one thing from Neumorphism (Pale ground, one light and one dark shadow, rounded corners).
Colour
Build on #f2e9d8, #ff645a, #1b1b18 and admit one accent from #e5e9ef, #b9c2ce, #657180.

Where they fight

  • Neubrutalism and Neumorphism share no intent, so the contrast has to become the subject rather than something to smooth over.
  • Neubrutalism and Neumorphism both belong to UI Expression, so the difference is small. Push the roles further apart than feels comfortable.

Caution

  • Neubrutalism Don't border and shadow everything. Vary the strength by hierarchy.
  • Neumorphism Contrast failure comes easily. Mark key actions and states with color and outline too.

Image prompt

Produce four original images that take their structure from Neubrutalism (style, 2010s–) and their accent from Neumorphism (style, late 2010s–). ## What to make Make the kind of thing Neubrutalism exists for: making a product frank and memorable, or humanity for communities and creator tools. Choose one subject and hold it across all four. ## Structure comes from Neubrutalism - Thick black borders - Hard shadows - Vivid color - Flat components Composition: Divide into clear boxes; shadows in one direction. Type and lettering: Bold sans, monospace. ## Accent comes from Neumorphism, used sparingly - Same-color surfaces - Two-direction shadows - Rounded parts - Low contrast Let one material quality come from it: Pale ground, one light and one dark shadow, rounded corners. ## Colour and feeling Build the ground on #f2e9d8, carry the structure in #ff645a and #1b1b18, and let a single accent come from #b9c2ce. These are read off real works, so a direction rather than a fixed palette. Feeling to carry: play, rebellion, trust, calm, futurity. ## Where they fight - Neubrutalism and Neumorphism share no intent, so the contrast has to become the subject rather than something to smooth over. - Neubrutalism and Neumorphism both belong to UI Expression, so the difference is small. Push the roles further apart than feels comfortable. ## What goes wrong - Neubrutalism: Don't border and shadow everything. Vary the strength by hierarchy. - Neumorphism: Contrast failure comes easily. Mark key actions and states with color and outline too. ## Across the four Keep the roles fixed in all four. Vary the framing, the scale and the arrangement so the set shows what this pairing can do rather than four versions of one picture. ## Constraints - Do not imitate, reference or name any specific artist, studio, brand, character or copyrighted work. - Do not reproduce the composition of an existing work. - Produce original compositions in the general period languages described above.
