Compose two styles
Rather than blending two styles into a middle, this assigns them roles: one carries the structure, the other appears as an accent. Where the two fight, it says so before you start.
How to divide the work

- Follow Emigre: The grid discarded each issue, text and image layered over each other
- Type
- Set in Emigre's manner (Pixel stepping enlarged, not smoothed, several unlike faces on a page), and let Grunge's lettering (Decayed sans, typewriter faces) appear only where you want the eye to catch.

- Ground in Emigre's material (Screen coarseness carried into print, paper white treated as glow); bring in exactly one thing from Grunge (Dirty paper, grain, low chroma plus one accent).
- Colour
