Compose two styles

Rather than blending two styles into a middle, this assigns them roles: one carries the structure, the other appears as an accent. Where the two fight, it says so before you start.

How to divide the work

Composition
Follow Deconstructivism: Collide multiple grids
Type
Set in Deconstructivism's manner (Sever, duplicate and rotate the letters), and let Radical Architecture's lettering (Write in manifesto voice, short and flat, set beside the image as a note.) appear only where you want the eye to catch.
Material
Ground in Deconstructivism's material (Translucent layers, cut surfaces, noise); bring in exactly one thing from Radical Architecture (Photomontage, flat black and white planes, mass produced furniture overwritten.).
Colour
Build on #dedbd3, #ff4e28, #29273e and admit one accent from #eae5d9, #d14a37, #24221f.

Where they fight

These two are already listed as related, so the join should come easily.

Caution

  • Deconstructivism Too heavy a cognitive load for interfaces. Keep experiments to heroes and set pieces.
  • Radical Architecture Borrowing the giant grid imagery without naming what it criticizes turns a stance of doubt into futuristic wallpaper.

Image prompt

An original image that takes its structure from Deconstructivism (Style, 1980s–) and its accent from Radical Architecture (Style, late-1960s–1970s). Structural cues: Fragmentation; Tilt; Colliding layers; Unstable contours. Accent cues, used sparingly: Speculative cities; Anti-functionalism; Vast grids; Play and critique. Composition: Collide multiple grids. Type and lettering: Sever, duplicate and rotate the letters. Let one material quality come from the second style: Photomontage, flat black and white planes, mass produced furniture overwritten.. Mood: Rebellion, Futurism, Play. Color: build on #dedbd3, #ff4e28, #29273e with a single accent drawn from #eae5d9, #d14a37, #24221f. Constraints: do not imitate, reference or name any specific artist, studio, brand, character or copyrighted work. Produce an original composition in the general period languages described above.
